Mason Schroeder earned the Summit League's TicketSmarter Male Swimmer of the Week, as announced Tuesday afternoon.
"Mason went into the weekend wanting to play around with race strategy for a final tune up for conference," said head coach
Jessica Hessel. "I think he found a good handle on what he needs to do. All his swims were great. Now we start to give him some rest so he can close out those swims at conference. He puts on a lot of extra work and I'm excited to see him swim in a few weeks."
Schroeder earns his second weekly honor after three first-place finishes in the Coyote Invite and he his strong swims all around over the weekend. His first win was the 200-IM where he finished with a time of 1:54.33. In the 200-free where he paced with a time of 1:43.25. His standout swim was the 200-back. His time 1:50.59 registered as a top-16 Summit League time during an in-season unrested swim.
Schroeder and the Mavericks will compete in the Summit League Championships Feb. 21-24 in Minneapolis.
