Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Omaha Mavericks men's tennis team went 2-0 this weekend to close out the week by going 3-1.

The Mavericks first opponent yesterday was Youngstown State. After falling in doubles, Omaha came from behind and defeated them 4-2. Mikhail Korkunov, Quintan Van Wijk and Mikel Garmendia all won in straight sets to get the Mavericks to four points. Ethan Gaubert's singles match went unfinished and tied at 1-1.

Omaha closed out their double header against Pratt Community College. The Mavericks handled the Beavers 6-1 to improve 5-4 on the season.

Omaha went 2-1 in doubles to open up the match 1-0. The duos of Mikhail Korkunov/Bryan Kuntz and Ethan Gaubert/Mikel Garmendia prevailed 6-2, 6-3 respectively to give the Mavericks an early lead.

Korkunov, Van Wijk, Kuntz, Garmendia and Gabe Whiston all won in straight sets to help the Mavericks secure their second win of the afternoon.

The Mavericks will continue their homestand next weekend when they take on Gonzaga on Saturday, Feb. 10 and Montana State Sunday afternoon.
