For the second night in a row, Omaha captain
Nolan Sullivan came up clutch with a big-time goal. Sullivan's sixth goal of the season with 2:55 left in regulation helped the Mavericks force OT in tonight's 1-1 tie with No. 10 Colorado College.
After an early goal by CC just 3:25 into the game, the Mavericks never wavered once in trying to bury the equalizer. Over the remainder of regulation, Omaha threw everything they had at Kaiden Mbereko and the Tigers including 19 shots alone in the 3
rd period. The Mavericks dug deep, and
Nolan Sullivan was there to put home a rebound on the CC doorstep.
Omaha had their chances in the overtime period but it would be the penalty kill that came up with the biggest two minutes of the contest tonight. The Mavericks killed their third penalty of the night with 1:36 left in the extra frame to maintain the 1-1 score and get the game to a shootout.
After this weekend's five-point series, Omaha is set to hop back on the road to face the Miami RedHawks next weekend in Oxford, Ohio.
