CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The Omaha softball team's season-opening win streak ends with 7-4 loss to the Drake Bulldogs. In a back in fourth game, the Bulldogs came out on top. 
The Mavericks fall to a 4-1 record on the season.

How It Happened
    - 
Tatum Montelongo started in the circle, where she notched her first career strikeout with her first batter. 
    - The Bulldogs got the early lead with line drive out to right field in the second inning. 
    - 
Sydney Thomason hit a two-run homer to right field to give the Mavericks a one run lead in the fifth. 
    - The Bulldogs came back in the bottom of the fifth, responding with four runs to put them up 5-2. 
    - In the sixth inning, 
Maggie O'Brien singled to right field, earning two RBIs after 
Lynsey Tucker and 
Rylan Ewoldt scored. After two runs, the Mavericks down by one run, 5-4. 
    - Drake scored two more insurance runs in the sixth to put them up 7-4. 
Game Notes
    - O'Brien went a perfect 4-of-4 and notched two RBIs and one run. 
    - Thomason record her second homer, two RBIs and one run. 
    - Montelongo pitched two innings, while recording her first strikeout. 
    - 
Abby Flanagan relieved Montelongo, pitching the remaining four innings.
