OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha volleyball improved to 9-10 overall (7-1 Summit League) Tuesday as the Mavericks rolled to a four set win (25-13, 25-7, 23-25, 25-22) over Kansas City inside Baxter Arena.
With the win, Omaha maintains second place in the Summit League behind the nation's only undefeated team in South Dakota State.
The Mavericks started off the first set hot with
Ivy Leuck serving six-straight Omaha points to begin the evening. During the 6-0 run to open play,
Amanda Hardt recorded three kills.
Omaha came out cruising in the second frame, starting off up 15-3, holding the Roos to just five kills and a -0.107 hitting percentage. Omaha recorded kills in 12 of 24 total attacks.
After falling in the third, Omaha rallied to take the match in the fourth, battling back from being down a pair of points at 21-19 to win the final set 25-22 and secure the Mavericks' fourth-straight victory to move to an even 5-5 at home in 2024.
Shayla McCormick posted a double-double with 14 kills and 11 digs while
Kali Jurgensmeier etched 15 kills and five blocks into the box score.
Omaha heads north for a pair of Summit League matchups later this week, first facing North Dakota on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. CT and North Dakota State on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. CT with both contests airing on the Summit League Network.
