The 2-2 Omaha Mavericks men's tennis squad is prepped to battle Wichita State this weekend on the road in their lone action of the week.
The Mavericks two wins have come against the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and Air Force in their home debut. They defeated both opponents 5-2. The Shockers come into Friday's match 1-3 with their only victory coming against Grand Canyon University in their spring season debut.
Wichita State always has a good squad and we have never beaten the shockers before, so saying tomorrow's outing will be anything other than a tough match just wouldn't be true," head coach Matt Barlow said. "Our confidence is up knowing we have
Ryoma Mishiro back in the lineup tomorrow, so I think the guys are ready to have a battle."
Sophomore racket
Ethan Gaubert is 3-1 in singles and 2-2 in doubles on the season. His five total victories leads all Mavericks. In doubles,
Mikhail Korkunov,
Bryan Kuntz and
Gabe Whiston all join Gaubert with a pair of doubles victories.
Tomorrow's action gets underway at 1:00 p.m. You can follow along via live stats
