Box Score The Omaha Mavericks men's tennis team improved to 2-1 on the season 5-2 victory over Air Force tonight in their home debut.

Omaha got off to a hot start taking two out of three doubles matches. The pairings of Mikhail Korkunov/Bryan Kuntz and Ethan Gaubert/ Gabe Whiston took care of busines 6-3, 7-5 respectively to capture the doubles point.

In singles, Quintan Van Wijk, Ethan Gaubert, Bryan Kuntz and Mikel Garmendia clinched singles victories to help get Omaha to the magic number four, for the win. Gaubert and Van Wijk each won three set thrillers en route to winning their singles matches. On the season Gaubert is now a combined 5-1.

Maverick newcomer Mikel Garmendia recorded his first collegiate singles victory defeating his opponent in straight sets, 6-2, 7-6.

Omaha has one more match on the books this weekend. They travel to Lincoln Sunday morning to take on the Corn Huskers of Nebraska.
