Omaha, Neb. - The Omaha Mavericks fall 92-55 to the South Dakota State Jackrabbits on Thursday night.
Omaha falls to a 4-14 overall on the season and 0-5 in conference play.
Leaders For Omaha
Aaliyah Stanley paced the Maverick with 12 points going 5-of-9 on the field and 2-of-5 from the three. Freshman
Cora Olsen was just behind her with 11 points going 4-of-13 on the field and 3-of-4 from the free-throw line.
Kennedi Grant had a team-high five assists and
Katie Keitges led with two steals. Olsen and
Deanay Watson each notched five rebounds to lead the Mavericks.
Leaders for South Dakota State
Five different Jackrabbits put up double-digits against the Mavs. Leading their team was Paige Meyers with 18 points. Holding the team-high 11 rebounds was Jenna Hopp and leading in assists was Brooklyn Meyer with four.

Omaha was out-shot on the field 37.5% (21-of-56) to 55.2% (32-of-58). From the three-point line, the Mavericks were also out-shot 27.3% (6-of-22) to 48% (12-of-25). The Mavericks trailed just behind of free throws (70%, 7-of-10 vs. 72.7%, 16-of-22)
Inside the First Quarter
Aaliyah Stanley had the first five points for the Mavericks with a jumper outside the paint and a three-pointer at 8:12. The Mavericks had some good looks on at the basket but couldn't get the ball to go in. Of 16 attempts at field goals, only three landed. They picked up four additional points on the free-throw line.
The Jackrabbits got off to a hot start, sinking 12 points in just over three minutes of the start of the game. As SDSU held Omaha to only 11 points in the first quarter, they ran up their score to 26 by the end of the first quarter. The Jackrabbits outrebounded the Mavericks 16-6, for six second-chance scoring opportunities. With only one additional field goal attempt over Omaha, the Jackrabbits were shooting 52.9% from the field.
Inside the Second Quarter
The Mavericks were slowly starting to see their shots sink. With 14 attempts on the field, six stuck for a .429 shot percentage. Stanley picked up seven of the 13 points in the second with a three-pointer and two layups. Olsen and Grant were the only other two Mavericks to pick up points in the second, though
Ana Nikulochkina made the only steal.
The Jackrabbits another 26 points quarter, keeping a consistent pace over the Mavericks. Nine of their 16 field goal attempts were sunk, including four three-pointers. With five free throw attempts, SDSU picked up additional points on the free throw line. At the end of the half South Dakota State was up by 28 points, 52-24.
Inside the Third Quarter
Watson's five points led the 13-point quarter off two field goals. Though having four more field goal attempts than the Jackrabbits, they were only shooting 35.7% and only picked up six points from within the two-point range. The Mavericks forced three of SDSU's four turnovers.
South Dakota State had their lowest scoring quarter with only 18 points. Madison Mathiowetz accounted for six of those points, going 2-of-4. The Jackrabbits had a seven-point scoring run with 1:55 left in the quarter to up the Mavericks by 34 points. Though a slow offensive frame for SDSU, they ended the fourth quarter with a 33-point lead.
Inside the Fourth Quarter
Omaha was finally gaining some traction in the fourth, going 7-of-12 on field goals, and 2-of-4 from behind the arc. Olsen tagged six points with two two-pointers and went a perfect 2-of-2 from the charity stripe, and additionally notched one steal and three rebounds.
The Jackrabbits maintained a 53.3% field goal percentage going 8-of-15 and went a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Their highest lead of the game of 42 points came at 0:58 with a pair of free throws. Seven different Jackrabbits sunk a basket each. SDSU was only able to pick up six rebounds in the fourth. After allowing the Mavericks two additional jump shots, the game concluded 92-55 in the Jackrabbits' favor.
