Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Omaha Mavericks men's tennis squad made their 2024 season debut this weekend against Oklahoma State on Saturday night and the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley this morning. Omaha dropped their season opener to OSU 1-6 and then answered by back taking care of UTRGV 5-2, earlier this morning. Full results from both matches can be found below. 

Against the Cowboys, the Mavericks were swept 3-0 in doubles play. Ethan Gaubert registered Omaha's lone point of the match winning in a three-set thriller. Gaubert fell 6-0 in the opening game and responded by going 6-1, 6-3 in sets two and three earn his first singles victory of the year.

Omaha had a short turnaround time taking on UTRGV at 9:00 a.m. this morning. Omaha swept doubles 3-0 with pairings of Bryan Kuntz/Mikhail Korkunov, Ryoma Mishiro/Quintan Van Wijk and Gabe Whiston/Ethan Gaubert. Ryoma Mishiro, Quintan Van Wijk, Bryan Kuntz and Ethan Gaubert all took care of business in singles helping Omaha secure their first win of the season.

Omaha returns home to make their home debut against Air Force next Friday, January 19 and hop back on the road to face in-state rival, Nebraska on Sunday, January 21.
