The Omaha Men's Tennis squad is ready to make some noise as they get their 2024 campaign underway this weekend with a pair of matches against Oklahoma State and Texas Rio Grande Valley.
Omaha will play in a prime time 6:00 p.m. time slot tomorrow night against the Cowboys. The Mavericks will be up against a top-25 opponent tomorrow night in Oklahoma State. Last season, the Cowboys swept the Mavericks 4-0. Omaha and UTRGV will wrap up the weekend early Sunday morning with the first serve slated for 9:00 a.m.
"The guys have been highly anticipating the start of the season since last April," head coach Matt Barlow said. "Although we've only had 1 week of practice, I think we are looking solid and ready to compete. Obviously a tough test starting with no. 22 OSU, but the guys are excited for the challenge."

Quintan Van Wijk was selected as a 2024 Summit League Preseason Athlete to Watch. Omaha was tabbed to finish third in the Summit League in the preseason coaches poll. The Willemstad, Curacao native went 17-4 in singles last season and compiled an 11-5 ledger during the fall of 2023, including a win against off #116 ranked Graydon Lair from Michigan State. Van Wijk Compiled a 3-2 record in singles play during league play and 12-11 overall in doubles play.
After this weekend, the Mavericks return back to Omaha to make their home debut against Air Force on January 19.
