Box Score Fargo, N.D. – The Mavericks return to Omaha with a pair of victories after defeating the North Dakota Bison three sets to two tonight.

Omaha extends their winning streak to three matches with tonight's five set victory. They improve to 4-10 on the season and 3-1 in the Summit League.

• The Mavericks and Bison opened up set 1 by trading points back and forth until it was tied at 13 apiece. Omaha would rip off seven unanswered points to open up a 20-13 lead over NDSU. Despite the Bison pulling within three points at 24-21, Amanda Hardt's set point kill would give the Mavericks the first set victory at 25-21.
• Omaha picked up right where they left off from the first set by jumping out to a 7-3 lead in set 2. NDSU would go to rally and take a 9-11 lead over the Mavericks but it wouldn't hold. Until the Mavericks went up 20-19, Omaha and NDSU would trade points back-and-forth. Omaha used three aces and two kills to close out the Bison in set two to take a 2-0 match lead.
• Following halftime, the Mavericks and Bison got back to the court for the third set. As they did for much of the second set, both teams trade points back-and-forth until NDSU took over the set at 10-10. The Bison scored eight of the next 10 points to take a 18-12 lead over Omaha. The Mavericks would pull within five and get it to 17-22 but were unable to stop NDSU from reaching 25.
• A fourth set that was a battle until the very end saw Omaha hold the lead for the majority of the set. The Bison wouldn't pull away until the final two points of the fourth set. The set was tied at 20-20, 21-21, 22-22 and 23-23. A kill and an attack error from Omaha would be the final two points to send the match to a decisive 5^th set.
• In the 5^th set, the Mavericks battened down the hatches and ripped off a 7-1 lead to blow the match wide open. NDSU would not be able to recover from the barrage of Maverick offense and would only be able to pull within four points the remainder of the set. Omaha put the finishing touches on the with an Amanda Hardt block to secure a 15-7 5^th set victory.

Rachel Fairbanks became a member of the 500 kills club and a member of the 500 digs club tonight. She needed eight kills and five digs before the match started. Fairbanks would finish the match with 13 kills and 14 digs.

Amanda Hardt had a season high 18 kills in tonight's match. She surpassed her previous high of 16. She also registered a season high 21 points on the evening as well.

The Mavericks registered a season high 64 kills tonight.

The Mavericks defeated the Bison in attacks (152-147), kills (64-60), hit percentage (.276%-.265%), aces (13-9) and blocks (9-8)
