Cedar Falls, Iowa— The Mavericks battled hard to overcome a two-goal deficit at the half, but the Panthers of Northern Iowa were able to find a late goal for the 3-2 win on a warm Sunday at UNI Soccer Field in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Omaha's record moves to 2-2-2 with the loss.

Cece Behrens had a shot blocked in the seventh minute, and another one saved in the 11th by UNI keeper Caitlin Richards as the Mavericks built pressure early.

The Mavericks appeared to have the game tied off a 32nd minute corner kick that Jordyn West redirected into the back of the net. Regan Zimmers was called for a foul in the box that negated the Omaha goal.

Out of the break, Omaha had all the momentum. Alyssa Kellar fired a shot that was saved by Richards, but Behrens was there to put the rebound in the net to cut the deficit to one. (1-2)

In the 71st minute, Grace Ostergaard made a great tackle in the middle third. Ostergaard found Reagan Bourgeois, who gave the ball to Sophia Green just outside the box. Green made a brilliant move around the defender and shot the ball into the lower right corner to tie the game. (2-2)

UNI's Maddie Eastus was gifted a great ball inside the box and scored in the 83rd minute, sealing the win for the Panthers. (2-3)
