Konsmo Makes Eleven Saves As Mavericks Draw With Mizzou

Columbia, Mo.-- The Mavericks and the Missouri Tigers played to a 2-2 draw on Thursday. Emma Konsmo made a career-high 11 saves in her third start of the season. 

Omaha's record moves to 1-0-2 with the tie. 

How it Happened 

  • The Mavericks threatened to score early in the match, with a sixth minute shot from Sophia Green that was saved by the Missouri keeper, Kate Phillips. 

  • A corner kick from Green in the seventh minute found Marissa Gohr, who put it in the back of the net for her first goal of the season. (1-0) 

  • The Tigers were able to answer quickly with a 12th minute goal from Brianna Buels. (1-1) 

  • The Mavericks took the lead right back with Gohr finding Green open in the box. Green headed the ball in for her team-leading second goal of the year. (2-1) 

  • Emma Konsmo made three saves in the final 10 minutes of the first half, sending Omaha to the locker room with a one-goal lead at the break. 

  • Konsmo made six consecutive stops to start the second half before Missouri was able to find the back of the net. Elena Zuchowski scored the equalizer in the 71st minute. (2-2) 

  • Konsmo finished her third-straight solid outing in goal with two saves in the 88th and 90th minutes to keep the game tied. 

Inside the Box 

  • Missouri outshot Omaha 19-4, including 13-4 in shots on goal. 

  • Green led the Mavericks with three shots on target. 

  • Konsmo made a career-high 11 saves in the draw. The sophomore saved eight shots in just the second half. 

  • Lindsey Birch and Emilie Erland picked up the Mavericks' first two yellow cards of the year in the 86th and 87th minutes, respectively. 

  • Missouri's Mia Yang was shown a yellow card in the 64th minute. 

  • Omaha took 2 corner kicks to Missouri's 6.
