Mark Timmins becomes the latest Maverick to play affiliated baseball after being signed by the Los Angeles Angels Thursday afternoon. Timmins will report to Arizona to play for the Arizona Complex League Angels, a rookie league affiliate.
Timmins pitched two seasons in Omaha, posting a 3.96 ERA and 95 strikeouts across 127.1 innings pitched. He had an excellent 2022 campaign with the Mavericks, owning a 3.31 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 58 strikeouts en route to a Second Team All-Summit honor. His finest outing with the team came in his first season when he tossed a complete game against BYU on April 17, 2021, allowing just four hits and one run.
Since graduating, Timmins has spent the last two years with the Missoula PaddleHeads of the Pioneer League. He currently owns the best ERA in the league at 1.47, along with 20 strikeouts. The year before, he struck out 67 batters in 84.1 innings of work.
