In the program's first ever NCAA Division I tournament appearance, the No. 3 seed Omaha Mavericks fell to the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns 5-0. The Mavericks had opportunities to strike this afternoon but they were unable to get the better of Louisiana's pitching. Omaha's tournament is not over yet as this Baton Rouge Regional is double elimination.

How It Happened

• The Ragin' Cajuns jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1^st inning with a ground out to Lynsey Tucker to score the runner on 3rd
• UL made it 2-0 with a single to left center to score Mihyia Davis from 2^nd base
• The Ragin' Cajuns extended their lead to 3-0 with a solo home run in the bottom of the 4^th inning
• UL added two more runs in the bottom of the 5^th inning to get to 5-0

GAME NOTES

• Omaha's first hit of the tournament came from Sydney Ross in the top of the 2^nd when she singled down the left field line
• Today's defeat is just the second loss for the Mavericks in the last 13 games
• Kamryn Meyer gave up her first homerun since April 23, against South Dakota. She threw 41 homerless innings in that span
• Omaha will play the loser of the LSU vs. Prairie View A&M game tomorrow at 2:30 PM
