Mavericks Look to Regroup for Series Finale with Jackrabbits

The Omaha Mavericks fell in both games this afternoon to the South Dakota State Jack Rabbits by one run. In a pitchers duel, Omaha dropped game one 1-0 in eight innings. In game two, the Mavericks lost in another close one-run contest, 5-4.

How It Happened
  • The Mavericks and Jackrabbits battled through seven regulation scoreless innings and would next extras to decide game one
  • Kamryn Meyer pitched 7.2 innings this afternoon striking out 10 while giving up just 5 hits and one run
  • SDSU ended the game with a single down the left field line to score their base runner in the bottom of the 8th

How It Happened
  • The Mavericks jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning when Emma Durr doubled to right center scoring Sydney Ross and Lynsey Tucker
  • SDSU evened things up at 2-2 in the bottom of the 2nd inning
  • Omaha regained the lead at 3-2 in the top of the 3rd inning when Marra Cramer hit a sac fly to right field to bring home Rachel Weber
  • In the bottom of the 3rd, the Jackrabbits tied things up again at 3-3
  • Olivia Aden brought home the Mavericks fourth run with a sac fly to center to score Cramer
  • SDSU used a two run bottom of the 6th to take a 5-4 lead over the Mavericks

  • Sydney Nuismer tossed six innings striking out eight batters allowing five runs on eight hits
