Preston Tenney has been named the TicketSmarter Summit League Baseball Peak Pitcher of the Week.
Tenney tossed a complete game shutout on Saturday in Omaha's 6-0 win over Northern Colorado. In doing so, he became the first Maverick to throw nine innings since
Mark Timmins vs. BYU on April 17, 2021, and is the first to throw a complete game shutout since current pitching coach
Payton Kinney vs. Ohio back on March 4, 2018. Of the 108 pitches Tenney threw in the game, 84 of them were strikes (77.8%). Overall, he allowed just two hit and zero walks while striking out eight batters.
This is the first Pitcher of the Week honor of Tenney's career.
