Omaha, Neb.--The Omaha softball team took both games of the doubleheader over the South Dakota Coyotes on Saturday, Apr. 22 at Connie Claussen Field.
Game One: Omaha 2, South Dakota 1

The Mavericks started the scoring in the second inning, with Emma Durr scoring on a single from Sophie Cerveny.

South Dakota would tie the game in the top of the seventh inning with a solo home run.

Omaha walked it off in the bottom of the seventh, with Lynsey Tucker scoring on a Maggie O'Brien double.

Kamryn Meyer earned the complete game victory, striking out eight batters while allowing one run on four hits. Meyer's career strikeout total sits at 691. She is eight K's away from breaking Cheris Kuster's all-time strikeout record of 698. Kamryn is scheduled to pitch in the series finale on Sunday.
Game Two: Omaha 8, South Dakota 1

South Dakota manufactured its lone run in the top of the first, jumping out to a 1-0 lead.

Omaha responded in the third, with Marra Cramer scoring on a triple off the bat of Olivia Aden. Aden would come around to score on a wild pitch, giving the Mavericks a 2-1 lead. They would go on to score in each of the next three innings.

Aden collected her second extra-base hit in as many innings in the fourth, doubling to score Ava Rongisch. Sophie Cerveny then drove in Aden with a single and came around to score on a double by Lynsey Tucker. Omaha would head into the dugout with a 5-1 lead after four innings.

The Mavericks added another run in the fifth off the bat of Cramer. They would plate two more runs in the bottom of the sixth on a wild pitch and a sacrifice fly.
The series finale against South Dakota is scheduled for 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, Apr. 23 at Connie Claussen Field.
