Mavericks and Pioneers Square Off in Summit League Tournament

Apr 20, 2023

The Omaha Mavericks Men's Tennis team is back in the Summit League Tournament for the first time since the 2020-21 season. With a regular season record of 13-10 and a 2-1 Summit League record, Omaha enters the postseason tournament as the No. 4 seed. The Mavericks will be taking on top seeded Denver.

"It's good to be back in the conference tournament," Omaha head coach Matt Barlow said. "The guys have been playing well lately, and I know they are ready to leave it all out there this weekend. I'm hoping we saved our best tennis for this weekend because that's what it will take to have a shot at the title."

The Mavericks met the Pioneers met last weekend in their regular season finale. Omaha ultimately dropped a tight battle to Denver 5-2. The Pioneers wrapped up the regular season with a 14-7 record and are riding a six match win streak heading into tomorrow's semifinal round. The Mavericks won three of their final five matches before entering this weekend's postseason tournament.

First serve for tomorrow's match is set for 9:00 a.m.
