Mar 10, 2023

The Omaha Mavericks Men's Tennis team returns to action tomorrow when they play intrastate rival, the Nebraska Huskers. Following tomorrow's match with the Huskers, Omaha will head to Arizona to play in three matches over spring break. Nebraska is 7-5 so far on the season.

"We're excited to get back to competing this weekend," Omaha head coach Matt Barlow said. "We will be going up against some good teams over the next four matches that will test us so we will need to come ready to play."

Omaha will face Grand Canyon University, Ottawa University Arizona and Northern Arizona University. GCU is 2-8, Ottawa is 1-5 and NAU is 9-2.

The Mavericks are 8-4 in their 2023 campaign. Quintan Van Wijk leads all Mavericks with nine singles wins. He is 9-1 on the year. In doubles, the pairing of Ethan Gaubert and Ryoma Mishiro are 9-3 this season. That is the best doubles record for the Mavericks.

Omaha will play Nebraska tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. First serve against GCU is at 9:00 a.m. then they will finish out the afternoon at 1:30 against Ottawa.
