Omaha, Neb.— The Mavericks and Coyotes of South Dakota played to a 0-0 draw at Caniglia Field on Thursday, Oct. 5.
Omaha's record moves to 4-4-5 with the tie and 1-1-3 in conference play.
How it Happened

Alyssa Kellar took the first shot of the game for either side in the fifth minute. The shot sailed left of the Coyote keeper Caroline Lewis, missing the net for a goal kick.

Mia Reedtz Rehde Olesen started in net for the second-straight game, getting on the stat sheet early with a sixth minute save.

Kellar fired another shot towards Lewis in the 23rd minute, but it was blocked by the South Dakota defense.

Sophia Green missed the net on her first shot of the game in the 25th minute. She would find the target in the 32nd minute, but Lewis was there with a save for South Dakota.

Omaha and South Dakota went into the locker room at halftime with a score of 0-0 and only one shot on goal apiece.

Right out of the break, Grace Crockett fired a shot from long range that was saved by Lewis in the 46th minute.

The Coyotes had a chance at goal the very next minute, but Reedtz was there to make the save.

Omaha built pressure in the second half. Green had two chances in the 49th and 59th minutes that were both saved by the Coyotes' goalkeeper.

Mia Reedtz made her final save of the game in the 63rd minute. Reedtz earned her second clean sheet of the season with three saves in her second start of the year.

The Mavericks took three corner kicks in the final three minutes of the match. An 88th minute corner kick garnered a shot from Grace Ostergaard that was blocked by the Coyotes' defense. Regan Zimmers picked up the rebound but sent the second shot wide of the net.

In the 90th minute with 12 seconds on the clock, the Mavericks took their next corner kick. Cece Behrens got her head on the ball, but the shot was saved by Lewis. Behrens drew a foul that gave Omaha one final chance with just seven seconds left.

Maggie Gundersen got the ball off the set piece, firing back-to-back shots that were blocked by the Coyotes as the last two seconds melted off the clock. The game would end in a scoreless draw.

Mia Reedtz made her second-straight start in net for the Mavericks after a clean sheet in her first appearance of the season. The senior from Denmark earned the tenth shutout of her career, making three saves in her second consecutive shutout.

Omaha recorded its sixth team-clean sheet of the season.

Sophia Green led the Mavericks with six total shot attempts including three on target.

The Coyotes were called for 10 fouls compared to the Mavericks' eight. South Dakota was also shown two yellow cards.

The Mavericks will have their first weekend off since Aug. 13 after a string of seven-straight Sunday matches. Omaha is back in action in Brookings, S.D., to take on the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State. Kickoff from SDSU is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 12.
