Mavericks Dialed in for Second Annual Platte River Rumble

Oct 12, 2023

The Omaha Mavericks return home this weekend to race in the 2nd annual Platte River Rumble at Mahoney State Park tomorrow afternoon.

Last year, the Mavericks placed fourth at the Omaha hosted meet with Kamryn Ensley finishing second overall. The Mavericks will look to replicate and have similar success in this year's installment of the 6k race.

"Looking forward to getting the spikes back on tomorrow. This event has been circled on the calendar for quite some time and I know the team is ready to go," Omaha head coach Cliff Cisar said. "The weather was a big question mark leading up to this one, but now it will be typical Midwest October cross country weather so there's nothing more exciting than that. Come out and support your Mavericks!"

This will be Omaha's fourth meet of the 2023 campaign. The Mavericks have put together a solid season so far registering a top five finish at the Augustana Twilight Meet, a top 10 finish at the Woody Greeno Invitational and a strong outing at the difficult Gans Creek Classic meet.

Omaha has produced several PR's this season. Lior Kremer, Katelyn Johnston, Maddie Yardley and Lauren Metzger have all secured personal bests on the season.

The Mavericks will get underway tomorrow afternoon from Mahoney State Park at 1:00 p.m. See below for more information and important links to tomorrow's meet.
