The Omaha Men's Tennis team is set to make their 2023 season debut this weekend. They'll open up the spring campaign in Stillwater, Oklahoma on Saturday against Lamar University and then against Oklahoma State. The Mavericks will hop back on the road to take on the Wichita State Shockers the following day.

"The start of the season is always an exciting time. Some guys have invested quite a bit of time in training and fitness over the break, and our first couple weeks of practice have been the best preseason level I've seen since I've been here," Omaha head coach Matt Barlow said. "Also, the energy has been high, so I know the guys are ready to battle it out together against some tough opponents this weekend."

Omaha will remain on the road for the duration of the month of January before their first home match on February 11th against Northern Illinois.

The Mavericks were picked to finish 4th in the Summit League Preseason Poll just a couple weeks ago. Sophomore racket Mikhail Korkunov was tabbed as a Preseason Athlete to Watch for the 2023 campaign.

The schedule of events for the Mavericks begins with Lamar University at 10 a.m. and Oklahoma State at 1:00 p.m. For Sunday, first serves are at 10:00 a.m.
