Glover Scored Career-High in Loss to Bison

OMAHA, Neb. - Ja'Sean Glover's career-game fell short for Omaha against North Dakota State Saturday afternoon. The Bison used a hot second half of shooting to beat the Mavericks, 78-65. Glover tallied career-highs with 16 points and five rebounds.

The Mavericks fall to 7-12 overall, 3-4 in league play.

Leaders for Omaha
Glover and JJ White led Omaha with 16 points each, while Frankie Fidler scored 13. Glover, White, and Dylan Brougham grabbed a team-leading five rebounds each.

White led the Mavericks with three assists, and Brougham had both of Omaha's blocks. Akol Arop tallied two steals.

Leaders for North Dakota State
Four of NDSU's starters finished in double-figures. Boden Skunberg led all-scorers with 25 points. He was 9-of-14 from the field and 7-of-10 from deep. He also grabbed seven boards. Andrew Morgan added 15 points, whil Damari Wheeler-Thomas and Jacari White scored 13 and 11 points, respectively.

The Mavericks held Grant Nelson under 10 points, but he tallied a game-high nine rebounds. Nelson and White each tallied three blocks.

Team Stats
Both teams shot well from the field Saturday. Omaha shot just over 49 percent, while NDSU shot nearly 52 percent. The Bison recorded 11 makes from three-point range to the Mavericks' five. Omaha went 6-of-7 at the line, while NDSU was 7-of-15.

Both teams were evenly matched in the paint, 34-34, and on the fast break, 8-8. The Mavericks held an 11-7 edge on the second chance and 32-5 off the bench. The Bison capitalized on turnovers, 15-9.

Inside the First Half
Wheeler-Thomas recorded the first points of the game, and the Bison would hang on to the lead despite Fidler and Kennedy Brown's jumpers to tie it over the never two minutes. Glover's spark off the bench after the 16-minute media timeout helped the Mavericks take their first lead of the game. Glover and White hit back-to-back threes under 14 minutes to lead, 12-8. Skunberg and Jacari White responded two two straight from deep for the Bison to tie it 14-14 at the 11:28 mark.

Marquel Sutton's first points of the game tied it 16-16 midway through, but NDSU would hold a one-possession lead over Omaha until Brougham's dunk with 3:38 to go tying the game 25-25. The Mavericks found their season lead of the game on a White jumper in the final two minutes. Skunberg swung momentum back to the Bison with a three-pointer with 29 seconds left, but White threw up a last season jumper for a 29-28 Omaha lead at the break.

Inside the Second Half
The Bison came out red hot from the field in the second half. Jacari White and Skunberg hit back-to-back threes for a quick five-point lead. Skunberg continued to drill threes for NDSU with another three makes over a one and a half minute stretch to blow open the lead to double-digits. His three at the 13:04 mark gave the Bison an 11-point edge, 50-39.

Buckets from Arop and Glover helped Omaha cut the lead back down to nine, while a Tony Osburn three with 8:47 to go made it a seven-point game. Wheeler-Thomas and White remained hot from deep, while Joshua Streit's layup with 5:35 to play made it a 16-point advantage for the Bison. Down the stretch, Glover and White kept Omaha in the mix. White's three with 2:08 on the clock chipped away at the lead getting it under 10 for one final time Saturday. The Bison beat the Omaha press over the final three possessions and went on to win, 78-65.

Game Notes
-Glover's career-high was 11 points set last weekend at St. Thomas. He's now scored double-figures twice this season.
-Fidler extended his double-figure scoring streak to eight conescutive games.
