Men's Tennis Heads South to ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa

Sep 30, 2022

The Omaha Men's Tennis team is set to make their second appearance of the fall season this weekend at the ITA All-American Championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The tournament provides plenty of opportunities to play some of the best in the country. 19 of the top 20 ranked players will be in the draw this weekend.

"I'm very excited for a few of our guys to get the opportunity to play this tournament," head coach Matt Barlow said. "It's always an eye-opening and great experience to play against the best players in the country. Our goal is to control what we can, compete hard, and represent Omaha the right way."

The Mavericks will have four rackets in the 256 player qualifying draw that begins tomorrow. If you win four matches in a row, you will move on to the qualifying draw of 128 players. The Mavericks will be in for a good challenge this weekend as only one player in school history has advanced through the opening pre-qualifying round.
