OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha out shot North Dakota 20-1 Friday night but could not find the back of the net resulting in a 0-0 draw in the Summit League opener.
The Mavericks are 1-6-3 overall, 0-0-1 in the Summit League.
How It Happened
- It took until the 15th minute Friday for Omaha to start its offensive attack, but it came on in a fury sparked by an attempt off the woodwork by Grace Thede. She and Cece Behrens would each tally one more before the 16th that were off target.
- At the 22:27 mark, Marissa Gohr took the first strike on target that was saved by Madi Livingston.
- Emilie Erland and Sophia Green each had shots on goal before the half expired. The Mavericks led 11-0 on shots at the break, but the match remained tied, 0-0.
- Hannah Olson took UND's lone shot of the match just two minutes out of halftime. Her attempt when high left over the goal.
- Maggie Gunderson nearly took the lead in the 71st minute, but Livingston made the stop. It was Omaha's only shot on goal of the half.
- Regan Zimmers, Gohr, Reagan Bourgeois, and Grace Ostergaard combined for eight more shots in the half all of which would be off target. The match resulted in a 0-0 draw.
Inside the Box Score
- The Mavericks outshot the Fighting Hawks 20-1. It marked a season-high in shots. They tied their high set vs. Lindenwood earlier this year.
