OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha women's soccer fell in its last non-conference match of the 2022 season. Air Force scored in the 47
th minute helping the Falcons to a 1-0 win Sunday.
With the loss, the Mavericks fall to 1-6-2 overall.
How It Happened
- Air Force challenged the Mavericks in goal from the start of Sunday's match by putting two shots on target in the first 13 minutes. The Falcons tallied another three before the 40-minute mark.
- The Mavericks recorded three shots in the first half. All of them wide of the goal keeping the match 0-0 at the halftime break.
- USAF converted its first attempt of the second half. Raine Komata scored high right in the 47th minute to put the Falcons in front.
- Following the goal, Omaha played with a sense of urgency with three close attempts in just three minutes. Regan Zimmers tallied the first shot on goal in the 54th minute, while Marissa Gohr nearly scored but sent the ball off the top woodwork.
- Ramthun and Gohrn exchanged shots on goal in the 60th and 62nd minutes.
- Omaha's final strike on target came in the 83rd minute but failed to find the back of the net. Air Force wins, 1-0.
Inside the Box
- Behrens and Gohr led Omaha with two shots each.
- The Falcons led 16-11 in shots, and 9-3 in shots on goal.
- Mia Reedtz Rehde Olesen made a career-high eight saves in goal. She falls to 1-6-2 overall.
