AMES, Iowa - The Mavericks closed a four-match road trip vs. the Cyclones Thursday night. Despite Omaha scoring first in the seventh minute, Iowa State got the win, 4-1.
With the loss, the Mavericks fall to 1-5-2 on the year.
How It Happened
- The first shot of the match found the back of the net Thursday night. Alyssa Hansen tallied her first goal of the season. Marissa Gohr crossed into the box finding Hansen low left for the touch and 1-0 lead.
- They Cyclones used a free kick in the 27th minute to set up in scoring position. Lauren Hernandez took the kick and controlled the ball off a deflection from the Mavericks. She fired again and placed the ball low to net the equalizer.
- Cece Behrens and Reagan Bourgeois had shots on goal before the half came to an end, but neither connected for a goal and the half ended in a 1-1 draw.
- ISU quickly doubled their lead in the 48th minute. Salom Prat scored unassisted for the Cyclones.
- Jordyn West's strike on goal in the 59th minute nearly tied the match once again, but ISU added insurance goals in the 66th and 88th minutes from Jasmin Colbert and Leia Khairy.
Inside the Box
- Hansen's goal was her first of the season and career. It's also a new career-high in points (2).
- The shots were tied with both teams managing 11 on the night. They each had seven on target.
- Bourgeois tallied a team-high three shots off the bench.
- In goal, Mia Reedtz returned to the line-up. She recorded three saves and falls to 1-4-2.

After two weeks on the road, Omaha returns to Caniglia. The non-conference season will wrap up Sunday, Sept. 18 vs. Air Force. Kick off is set for 1 p.m.
