Mavericks Travel to Colorado for Two Road Matches

LEADING OFF
Omaha hits the road of its next four matches and start the trip in Colorado with a pair of games vs. Northern Colorado and Colorado. The Mavericks head to Greeley for its first match up with the Bears on Thursday, Sept. 1. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. CT. Omaha then travels to Boulder to take on the Buffaloes on Sunday, Sept. 4 for a 2 p.m. CT start.

QUICK KICKS
• The Mavericks recorded back-to-back draws in last weeks action. In their first road match, Omaha held UNI scoreless and the match ended in a 0-0 tie. Mia Reedtz Rehde Olesen tallied four saves for her second clean sheet.
• Omaha returned home to host Missouri. The Tigers struck first, but Cece Behrens netted the equalizer in the 88th minute to force a 1-1 draw with the SEC opponent. Grace Crockett tallied the assist off her corner kick.
• Omaha earned a 1-0 win at Lindenwood with a goal from Emilie Erland in the 76th minute. She was assisted by Morgan Fenton who recorded her first point as a Maverick.
Ava Blum and Emma Nylund made their career debuts vs. Missouri.
• The Mavericks opened 2022 action at home with Oklahoma State. Grace Ostergaard found the back of the net in the 10th minute off a blocked shot from Reagan Bourgeois. OSU went on to win 2-1.
• The Mavericks were tabbed third in the Summit League Preseason Poll for the second straight season. 
Sophia Green and Grace Ostergaard represented Omaha as Players to Watch.
• Omaha posted a 9-8-2 record last seasons. The nine wins were the most wins in a single-season since the Division I transition.
• Beginning this season, if the score at the end of regulation is 0-0, the teams will earn a draw in their record. Overtime will no longer be played in the regular season.

SCOUTING THE NORTHERN COLORADO BEARS
The Bears enter the week at 2-0-2 overall and are undefeated on their home turf. In last week's action, Northern Colorado downed North Dakota 4-0 and played to a 1-1 draw with Valparaiso. The Bears also have a win vs. Wyoming in their season opener and tied at Kansas State. UNC was tabbed the Big Sky's preseason favorite ahead of the season after posting an 8-1-0 finish in league action last season.

BEARS TO WATCH
• Haley O'Nan leads the Bears with five points through the first four matches. She has a pair of goals and an assist on the season. O'Nan scored the opening goal vs. Wyoming to tally the game winner.
• Kaya Lindberg has made all four starts in goal for UNC. She has a .929 save percentage with 26 saves. Lindberg has allowed only two goals for a .50 GAA.

SERIES HISTORY
The Bears lead the all-time series 8-5. The teams have met five times in the Division I era with the Mavericks winning two of those meetings.
