Omaha, Neb.- Omaha Men's Golf head coach Seth Porter announced Thursday the signing of Connor Wilson and Tyler Eedy for the 2022-23 season.
Wilson, a graduate of Arkansas State University, joins the Mavericks as a redshirt senior. As a Red Wolf, Wilson competed in five events over three seasons, notching a stroke average of 74.6. The Edmond, Oklahoma native shot a career-low round of 69 (-3), and a career-best 54-hole score of 216 (E). He finished as high as seventh on the individual leaderboard and helped the Red Wolves to their best finish in an NCAA Regional, taking seventh place in 2021.
"Having spent 4 years on an exceptionally good Arkansas State team, we are looking forward to Connor adding some experience and leadership to our team as graduate transfer pursuing his MBA degree," said Porter.
Eedy joins the Mavericks as a sophomore after playing his freshman season at Michigan State. The West Branch, Michigan native was the number two golfer in Michigan, ranked by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard. As an Ogemaw Heights alum, Eedy was the runner-up in three events in 2019, including the GAM Junior Invitational, the GAM Michigan State Junior Amateur, and the Randy Wise Junior Open. He also took tenth place at the Coca-Cola Junior Championship in 2019, after finishing third at the event in 2017.
"Tyler has had a great summer of golf and we are looking forward to him making an impact on the course for us," said Porter. "He brings Power 5 experience which will hopefully translate into Summit League success, with three years of eligibility remaining after Michigan State."
Both men will be available for Porter's lineup in the fall, when the Mavericks head to Manhattan, Kansas for the Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Kansas State. Action from "The Little Apple" begins at 8:30 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday, September 12-13.
