OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha head volleyball coach
Matt Buttermore announced the Mavericks' 2022 schedule this afternoon. The 2022 slate features 4 non-conference tournaments and 14 home matches at Baxter Arena.
Omaha made history with its first conference championship and 20-win season at the Division I level last season. They held a 20-10 overall record and 15-3 conference record making it to the Summit League Championship game.
The Mavericks open the season with an exhibition game against Kearney on Aug. 20 before heading to Columbia, SC to take on Winthrop (8/26), South Carolina (8/26) and Sacred Heart (8/27).
Omaha returns home the next weekend to play host to Wichita State (9/1) and Northern Colorado (9/3) in the first of two home tournaments. The following weekend, Sept. 8-10, the second home tournament brings in Florida State and Creighton.
The non-conference season ends with a trip to Lawrence, Kan. on Sept. 15-17 as the Mavericks face UCF, Lipscomb and Kansas.
The Mavericks open Summit League action with two road games at South Dakota (9/22) and South Dakota State (9/24) before returning home to play Western Illinois (9/29) and St. Thomas (10/1).
A string of three consecutive matches on the road begins with Denver (10/4) and Oral Roberts (10/6) before wrapping up in Kansas City on Oct. 8.
Omaha returns to Baxter for a four-game stretch against North Dakota (10/13), North Dakota State (10/15), South Dakota State (10/20) and South Dakota (10/22).
The Mavericks hit the road again to take on St. Thomas and Western Illinois on Oct. 27 and Oct. 29, respectively before returning home to face Kansas City (11/3) and Oral Roberts (11/5).
Omaha concludes the regular season at North Dakota State (11/10) and North Dakota (11/12), while playing the final home match of the season against Denver on Nov. 19.
The Summit League Championship is set for Nov. 24-26 in Omaha, Neb.
