Finale at Penn State Rained Out

May 1, 2022

Omaha's series finale at Penn State has been rained out.

The Mavericks were leading the Nittany Lions 1-0 in the second inning Sunday when play was halted.

Since this was a nonconference series, the game will not be made up. Penn State scored late to win each of the first two games, 8-7 on Friday and 4-3 on Saturday.

Omaha got off to a quick start on Sunday. Jack Lombardi and Cam Frederick opened the game with back-to-back doubles to grab the 1-0 lead.

Charlie Bell worked a quick 1-2-3 first for the Mavericks, then the game was stopped with one out in the top of the second.

Omaha returns home this week for five games at Tal Anderson Field, beginnig with a Tuesday night matchup with Kansas.
