OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha softball won its first league series after taking a 1-0 game three win. The Mavericks split yesterday's action with the Bison before recording another shutout Sunday morning.
Omaha improves to 14-11 overall and 3-3 in league play.
How It Happened
- Most of Sunday's action came in the first inning. Gates tallied the first hit with a single in the top for the Bison's first hit.
- Omaha put the first run on the board in the bottom half. Izzy Eltze reached first on a fielding error, while Lynsey Tucker got her to second on a sac bunt.
- Lexi Burkhardt then tallied the first Maverick hit advancing Eltze to third. Jamie White filled the bases with a walk leading to Rachel Weber's at-bat. Weber sent a fly ball to right field, and Eltze tagged up to score the lone run of the game.
- The Mavericks recorded another pair of hits, while the Bison tallied three before the game expired. NDSU had the winning run on base in the seventh, but the Mavericks escaped with the 1-0 win.

- Kamryn Meyer picked up another win and shutout. She now has nine wins and eight shutouts. She retired 10 batters for her second straight game in double-figures and seventh on the year.
- Omaha tallied three hits on the day.
