CONWAY, Ark. - The Mavericks earned two wins Monday morning at the Michelle Short Memorial Classic. In game one, Omaha redeemed its loss to Saint Louis with a 3-2 win over the Billikens. The Mavericks then shutout Central Arkansas, 1-0, to extend their win steak to three games.
Omaha improves to 8-5 overall.
Game One: Omaha 3, Saint Louis 2
How It Happened:
- The Billikens gained an early lead in the first inning with a two-run homer from Wise that scored her and Kowalik with two outs.
- The Mavericks didn't need long to respond and used a productive second inning to take a 3-2 edge.
- Rachel Weber led off with a triple to right field. Sydney Ross and Olivia Aden joined her to fill the bases following a hit-by-pitch and walk, respectively.
- All three would score in the inning. Ross and Aden were hit in by Izzy Eltze on a two-run double to take the lead.
- SLU tallied three more hits, and Omaha one more, but neither team would score again. Omaha wins, 3-2.
Inside the Box Score
- The Mavericks finished with four hits.
- Eltze, Lynsey Tucker, Jamie White, and Weber each tallied one.
- Lexi Burkhard tallied a stolen base.
- Sydney Nuismer made the start and collected a win after five innings of work. She improves to 2-2 and retired three batters.
- Kamryn Meyer came in for relief and recorded her first save of the season. She struck out six batters.
Game Two: Omaha 1, Central Arkansas 0
How It Happened:
- Tucker recorded a single in the first inning for the first hit of the game, but it wasn't until the fourth inning that a run was scored.
- White sent a solo homer to left center for a 1-0 lead and the second hit of the game.
- The Bears finally tallied their first hit in the bottom of the fourth with a lead off single from Harris. She made it to third but was left stranded in scoring position.
- Sophie Cerveny and Eltze both tallied hits before the end of the game, and the Bears struggled to connect in the box. Omaha wins, 1-0.
Inside the Box Score
- This game marked the fifth shutout of the season and second of the tournament for Omaha.
- White's homer was her second of the season.
- Meyer pitched a complete game improving to 4-1 overall. She tallied 12 strikeouts.

The Mavericks will play in the Florida Spring Games next weekend. The five-game schedule opens Friday with two games vs. Central Michigan and Georgetown.
