Box Score Omaha remained hot in posting its fourth straight win Saturday at Miracle Hill Tennis Center.
The Mavericks (5-6) blanked UIC 7-0 in their second of three weekend matches, claiming the doubles point early before taking five of their six singles matches in straight sets. They'll face Nebraska Sunday.
Matt Hulme and
Victor Sklenka posted wins in singles and doubles. But Omaha coach
Matthew Barlow used 10 different players in sweeping the Flames. Only the No. 6 singles match went to a third set.
"Today we brought it as a whole team," Barlow said. "[We had a] great doubles clinch from senior
Jacob Weber and freshman
Cameron Luhring, who made his college dual debut. Our young guys are starting to gain some confidence and, hopefully, we can continue to build on this momentum."
Hulme,
Hugo Piles Ballester,
Mikhail Korkunov, Sklenka,
Alvaro Quintana and
Yaswanth Mylavarapu posted singles wins for the Mavericks. Hulme teamed with
Ethan Henry for Omaha's other doubles win.
The Mavericks wrap up their busy weekend when they meet the Huskers in Lincoln Sunday at 5 p.m.
"We are excited to get after it and battle Nebraska," Barlow said.
