SAN ANTONIO, Texas –
Kamryn Meyer posted a no-hitter in Omaha's third straight shutout win of the weekend. The Mavericks won 5-0 over UTSA in Saturday's lone game of the Incarnate Word Tournament.
Omaha improves to 4-4 overall.
How It Happened
- Saturday morning got off to a slow start before Maggie O'Brien's double in the third sparked the Omaha offense. She'd get to third on a single up the middle from Izzy Eltze and then capitalized on a while pitch to score the first run.
- Eltze was the next to score for Omaha on a single from Lexi Burkhardt, and the Mavericks took a 2-0 lead out of the third.
- In the top of the sixth, Omaha tallied another three runs on the board. Sydney Ross was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning and eventually stole second base. She'd score on another base hit from O'Brien.
- Eltze then stepped up to clear the bases with a two-run blast for a 5-0 lead.
- Meyer got the Mavericks out of the seventh without an answer from UTSA. Omaha wins, 5-0.
