Mavericks Edge Penguins in Milwaukee

Box Score MILWAUKEE – Omaha opened its weekend in Wisconsin with a hard-fought win over Youngstown State.

The Mavericks got singles wins from Hugo Piles Ballester, Todd Chen and Victor Sklenka while also claiming the doubles point in a 4-3 victory Saturday at Marquette's Helfaer Tennis and Recreation Center.

Four of the six singles matches went to a third set. Two of those were decided by a break and another went to a tiebreaker. All of those went to the Penguins except of Chen's three-set win at No. 4 singles.

Piles and Sklenka won in straight sets in the No. 3 and 6 positions, respectively, for Omaha. Piles and Davis Lawley were victorious at No. 2 doubles while Matt Hulme and Ethan Henry won in the No. 1 spot.

Chen and Sklenka were also leading in No. 3 doubles when the Mavericks clinched the point.

Omaha returns to action on Sunday when they face Marquette at 11 a.m. Sunday.
