Tennis Announces Return of Maverick Ball Kid Program

Dec 7, 2022

The Omaha Mavericks men's and women's tennis programs have announced the return of the fan favorite Maverick Ball Kid Program.

The program's mission is to create a rewarding and active learning opportunity for kids to foster a lively and engaging experience during home matches. The benefits include: exclusive access to Division I tennis competition, learn about the game of tennis, countable community service hours and free Maverick Ballers t-shirts.

"Last year was our inaugural year for our Maverick Ballers and it was a blast," Omaha women's tennis head coach Adam Summitt said. "We had 16 kids sign up and had as many as six at one match. This was just a lot of fun for the kids to do, along with our players getting to engage with the local youth. This made matches go faster and feel more professional. We hope to have more kids sign up this year and participate."

Children ages 9-14 (cannot be in high school per NCAA rules) are eligible and tennis experience is recommended but not required. Every participant must attend at least one training session before working any of the home matches.

The program will only be ran for select men's and women's home matches. You can see the full list for each team below with dates and times of those matches. Matches played between January and mid-March will be played at Miracle Hill Tennis Center.  Matches between mid-March to May will be played at the Koch Tennis Center.
