The Omaha Mavericks jumped on the Long Island University Sharks early tonight and never looked back.
The nation's leading goal scorer continued to do what he's done best this season by putting the puck in the net twice tonight.
Jack Randl got things rolling tonight for Omaha when he scored on the power play just 2:32 into the game. Randl would go on to make it 2-0 when he tapped in a
Tyler Weiss centering pass from the doorstep of the LIU cage. Omaha buried two more times in the 2nd period getting goals from
Cameron Berg and
Joaquim Lemay. Berg buried his second goal of the season when he rifled a snapshot up stairs to beat Vinnie Purpura. 55 seconds later, Freshman blueliner Jo Lemay scored his first collegiate goal with a shot from just inside the blueline utilizing the screen set in front of the Sharks net.
Omaha kept their foot on the gas pedal in the 3rd period.
Jake Pivonka,
Jonny Tychonick and
Kaden Bohlsen all found the back of the net. Pivonka's goal came on the power play when he blasted a one-timer top right corner just 2:02 into the period. Tychonick registered his first of the season when he corraled a loose puck to the side of the LIU net and put it into a yawning cage at 4:49 of the 3rd. With time winding down in regulation, Kaden Bohlen ripped a wristshot through a field of bodies to score his first career collegiate goal with just 17 seconds left in the game.

Jake Pivonka (1-1=2) all registered multi-point games this evening. Omaha tied it's season high with three 2nd period goals and netted a season best three 3rd period goals.

Simon Latkoczy secured his 2nd career victory.
The Mavericks move on to NCHC play next weekend when they welcome the North Dakota Fighting Hawks to Baxter Arena. Friday and Saturday's puck drops are both slated for 7:07 p.m.
