BROOKINGS, S.D. - Omaha suffered its first conference loss Sunday afternoon with its final match of the week at South Dakota State. The Jackrabbits tallied three goals in the second half to come out on top.
With the loss, Omaha sits at 2-7-4 overall, 1-1-2 Summit League.
How It Happened
- Defense reigned supreme in the first half with the teams combining for just three shots. It took over 32 minutes before the first one was notched. Grace Thede struck first at the 32:48 mark, while the Jackrabbits recorded two off target over the next two minutes.
- Mia Reedtz Rehde Olesen made the first save of the match in the 38th minute on the final attempt of the half coming from the feet of Cece Limongi. It was scoreless at the break.
- A flurry of goals came in the first 15 minutes of the second half. The first goal was netted by Delaney Grant in the 49th minute off a corner kick situation for SDSU.
- Kayla Anderson and Avery Murdzek then scored back-to-back at the 57:40 and 58:21 marks to make it a 3-0 edge for the Jackrabbits.
- Emma Konsmo made three more stops before time expired, and SDSU took the 3-0 win.
