How It Happened
  • The Cowgirls held an edge over the Mavericks in the first half outshooting them 6-2 and 4-0 on goal. Grace Yochum tallied three of the four shots on target and eventually converted her third opportunity. Olivia Dowell sent a cross into the box forcing Mia Reedtz Rehde Olesen out of position. Yochum found the ball and used one touch for a 1-0 lead in OSU's favor.
  • Margaret LaVigne and Regan Zimmers recorded Omaha's only shots of the half. They came in the first four minutes of action and were both off target.
  • Less than four minutes into the second half, the Cowgirls challenged Reedtz in goal again. She made the stop high right on a shot from Kim Rodriguez. Dowell forced another stop in goal at the 56:12 mark.
  • Andrea Daves recorded Omaha's first shot on goal of the match in the 55th minute from 30-yards out that would be stopped right in the middle of the net.
  • Dowell found the back of the net on her next attempt putting the Cowgirls up 2-0. Samiah Phiri sent a cross into the goal box where Dowell used two touches to pop it high over Reedtz.
  • Phiri added to her assist with a goal in the 82nd minute for OSU. Reedtz got her hands on the ball but it deflected over her right shoulder into the back of the net. Cowgirls went on to win 3-0.
