FARGO, N.D. – The Omaha baseball team fell 8-7 on Saturday afternoon at North Dakota State at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo, N.D.
Omaha falls to 18-19 (10-8 Summit League) while the Bison improve to 32-13 (17-9).
How it Happened
- A Maverick error and a sacrifice fly led to the Bison taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second.
- Omaha responded with four runs on four hits to grab a 4-1 lead in the top of the third.
- Masen Prososki and Mike Boeve reached on back-to-back singles before scoring on a two-RBI single by Keil Krumwiede.
- Chris Esposito reached on a fielder's choice that allowed Parker Smejkal to score from third to make it a 3-1 Omaha lead.
- Eduardo Rosario's RBI single through the left side brought Esposito home to give the Mavericks a three-run lead.
- The Mavericks stretched the lead to five after Krumwiede's two-RBI single scored Boeve and Prososki in the top of the fourth.
- The Bison got one run back in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI single, cutting the Omaha lead to 6-2.
- Rosario drew a walk with the bases loaded in the top of the sixth to record his second RBI of the day and give the Mavericks a 7-2 lead.
- NDSU answered with a run in the bottom of the sixth off an RBI single.
- Trailing 7-3 in the bottom of eighth, the Bison scored five runs on five hits to take an 8-7 lead heading into the ninth.
- Omaha was retired in order in the top of the ninth to clinch the come-from-behind victory for the Bison.
