Mavericks Blank Bison on Saturday

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha baseball team posted a 7-0 shutout victory over North Dakota State on Saturday afternoon at Tal Anderson Field.
 
The win improves the Mavericks to 10-13 (5-2 Summit League) on the season while the Bison drop to 17-8 (6-5).
 
How it Happened
  • Eduardo Rosario and Keil Krumwiede reached on back-to-back singles in the second before Jack Lombardi roped a two-RBI single to right, plating the two Mavericks and giving Omaha the 2-0 lead.
  • NDSU had the bases loaded in the fourth with two outs, but Richie Holetz struck out Jack Simonsen to keep the Bison off the board.
  • Mike Boeve began the fifth with a single up the middle and later came around to score on Parker Smejkal's RBI single to right.
  • Omaha blew the game open in the sixth with four runs on six hits.
  • Lombardi collected his third RBI of the day before Boeve laced a two-RBI single to left to give the Mavericks a 6-0 lead.
  • The Mavericks capped the scoring on the day on Chris Esposito's RBI single through the left side, scoring Boeve.
