OMAHA, Neb. – The Mavericks traveled to Kansas City, Missouri to take on the Roos Friday night. The teams played to a double overtime 0-0 draw in the meeting.
With the tie, Omaha is now 6-2-3 on the year.
How It Happened
- Omaha held a 4-1 advantage in shots in the first half vs. Kansas City. The Mavericks took the only shot on goal in the half. Margaret LaVigne fired the shot in the 28th minute forcing a high save by Mackenzie Caldwell.
- The Mavericks notched another five shots in the second half and held the Roos without one. Sophia Green put one on target at the 60-minute mark to force another save. Green and Grace Thede took two final attempts for Omaha in the final two minutes of regulation, but both were off target leading to overtime.
- Thede got a good look on goal in the 97th minute, but Caldwell got her hands on it to force another overtime period. Neither team got a look on goal in the final ten minutes ending the match in a 0-0 draw.
