Mavericks Fall at Texas Tech

LUBBOCK, Texas – Omaha men's basketball continued its road trip Tuesday night with a game at Texas Tech. The Red Raiders took a dominant win over the Mavericks, 96-40. Three players scored seven points for Omaha in the loss. 
 
The Mavericks fall to 1-4 overall.  
 
Leaders for Omaha 
Frankie Fidler, Dylan Brougham, and Devin Evans scored seven points each to lead Omaha. Fidler was 2-of-6 from the field with three from the foul line. Brougham finished 2-of-3 with another three at the stripe for the Mavericks. Off the bench, Evans went 2-of-5 from the field. 
 
Kyle Luedtke grabbed a team-high five boards, while Fidler tallied a season and team-high three assists. He also led the Omaha squad with two steals. 
 
Leaders for Texas Tech 
Terrence Shannon Jr. poured in a game-leading 18 points. He was a percent 3-for-3 from the line, 6-of-11 from the field and hit three from long range. Davion Warren added 14 points, while Adonis Arms scored 10. 
 
Daniel Batcho led the Red Raiders with 10 boards and six assists. He also added six points. Mylik Wilson nabbed three steals. 
 
Team Stats 
Omaha shot 26.5 percent from the field to Tech's 58.7 percent. The raiders shot 50 percent from long-range knocking down 8-of-16, while the Mavericks shot 20.7 percent converting 6-of-29. 
 
Texas Tech narrowly led on second chance points, 13-9. They also led on points off turnovers, bench points, and points in the paint. 
 
Inside the First Half 
Dylan Brougham scored the first points of the game on a layup in the paint for the Mavericks. It would be the lone lead for Omaha in the game. Kevin Obanor's layup on Texas Tech's next possession evened the score and sparked an 11-0 run. Frankie Fidler broke the run with a steal and fast break layup for Omaha. At the 11:38 mark, Nick Ferrarini connected from the arc to bring the Mavericks within six of the Red Raiders.  
 
Devin Evans cut the lead again to single digits after crashing the boards for an offensive rebound and a pair of second chance points. Tech closed the final five minutes of the half on a 13-6 run. Evans hit a buzzer beating three-pointer to close the half. Tech took a 43-20 lead at the break. 

Inside the Second Half 
Felix Lemetti opened the second half of action with a three-pointer for Omaha. Wilson answered twi a jumper on the other end of the court for the Red Raiders. They went on to score the next 13 field goals to blow open the lead, 74-27. Luedtke hit his first basket of the night with a three at the 7:50 mark to end the scoreless streak. Brougham, Darrius Hughes, and Akol Arop scored for Omaha in the final seven minutes, but the Raiders held on for a 96-40 win. 
 
Noting Tonight's Game 
-This marked the first game Omaha hasn't had a player score double-figures this season. 
-Fidler dished out a season-high three assists matching his total at K-State. 
-Tut scored his first points of the year with a jumper in the paint. 
 
Up Next 
Omaha wraps up a five-game road trip at No. 3/4 Purdue squad Friday, Nov. 26 at Mackey Arena. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. CT.
