CHICAGO, Ill. – Omaha women's tennis picked up its third-consecutive win behind a 5-2 victory over Green Bay Saturday afternoon.
The Mavericks (10-3) took the doubles point and saw wins in singles from
Madison Gallegos,
Savanna Crowell,
Natalie Lorentz and
Marie Kapelevich.
"It was hard-fought match as Green Bay came on the court and made us battle," said Director of Tennis
Adam Summitt. "Every player did a great job competing to the end. We look forward to finishing this trip on a good note."
Omaha clinched the doubles point with a win at No. 1 from Gallegos and
Ines Absisan (6-1) and No.2 with Lorentz and Kapelevich (6-4). In singles, Lorentz gave Omaha its second point with a 6-1, 7-5 win at No. 4, followed by a win at No. 5 from Kapelevich with a 7-5, 6-3 result. Gallegos clinched the match for Omaha at No. 1 after her 6-4, 6-3 victory. Omaha picked up its fifth point from Crowell, who won 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 at No. 3.
