OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's tennis program remained perfect at home this season with a 5-2 victory over Northern Colorado Sunday morning at Miracle Hill Tennis Center.
The Mavericks (8-3) downed Northern Colorado with the doubles points and four wins in singles.
"It was a great way to finish the weekend," said Director of Tennis
Adam Summitt. "We played some sound doubles today and I'm happy with our progress. Going into singles, we really took control at the beginning. In a few matches, we had some mental lapses and we just need to recognize that and make some adjustments. Overall, it was a great effort from everyone and we look forward to a good weekend in Chicago."
Omaha won the doubles point after
Natalie Lorentz and
Marie Kapelevich won 6-1 at No. 2, while
Ines Absisan and
Madison Gallegos clinched at No. 1 with a 6-3 win.
Savanna Crowell and
Emily Behling were up 5-4 when their match went unfinished at No. 3.
Lorentz gave Omaha its second point of the match with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles. The Mavericks went up 3-0 after Gallegos won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1. Northern Colorado won at No. 2 singles to get on the board, but Kapelevich clinched the match point with a 6-3, 6-1 at No. 6. The Mavericks gained another win at No. 5 for its fifth point from Behling's 6-3, 7-6 (5) victory.
