EL PASO, Texas – Omaha softball ended its five-game slate in El Paso, Texas, with a 8-4 loss at UTEP on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Mavericks slip to 7-7 on the season with the setback.
 
How It Happened

• A pair of RBI singles in the bottom of the third gave the Miners a 3-0 lead through three innings.
• Emma Dargy singled through the left side, scoring Grace Boganowski and plating Omaha's first run in the fourth.
• Diana Murtha reached on a fielder's choice and Jamie White was safe on a play at the plate to cut the deficit to one.
• Janae Cameron singled home Dargy and Murtha raced home on a throwing error on the play to give Omaha a 4-3 lead.
• The Miners took the lead back in the fifth on a two-run homer.
• UTEP added to its advantage in the sixth with a three-run home run.

Inside the Box Score

• Lexi Burkhardt went a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate for the Mavericks.
• White and Hailey Bartz added a pair of hits.
• Allison Helton, Emily Klosterman, Dargy, Murtha and Cameron recorded one hit.
• Starter Sydney Hampton pitched 4.0 innings, allowing five runs on eight hits.
