Ball State Slips Past Omaha on Friday Night

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's soccer team suffered a narrow defeat on Friday night as the Mavericks fell 1-0 vs. Ball State at Caniglia Field.
 
UNO drops to 1-3-1 on the season while the Cardinals jump their overall record to 5-0-0.

How It Happened
  • Defense had the upper hand early in the match as neither team attempted a shot in the first 17 minutes.
  • The Cardinals threatened first in the 17th minute when Claudia Como let loose a shot from the top of the box that was saved by Omaha goalkeeper Kelly Lemke.
  • Ball State scored the lone goal in the 45th minute when received a pass at the top of the box from Sam Musick and fired the ball into the goal.
  • Amanda Rapaduski nearly tied the match in the 48th minute, but the ball struck the crossbar and BSU continued to cling to the one-goal advantage.
  • A leaping save by the Cardinal keeper denied Hannah Heinemann's attempt to tie the match in the 81st minute from the top left corner of the box.
