Women's Soccer Handed 1-0 Hard-Fought Loss on the Road

AMES, Iowa – The Omaha women's soccer team concluded the weekend with a 1-0 loss at Iowa State on Sunday afternoon in Ames, Iowa.
 
The result marks the third consecutive match the Mavericks have fallen 1-0 while the overall record on the season dips to 1-4-1.

How It Happened
  • Omaha drew the first shot on target in the 10th minute when Amanda Rapaduski's shot was saved by the ISU keeper.
  • The Maverick defense held off the Cyclones as Iowa State attack tallied five shots in the final 16 minutes of the first half.
  • The Cyclones netted the game-winner in the 72nd minute on a header off a cross in front of the goal.
  • Omaha quickly responded two minutes later, but Avarie Howard's header attempt sailed wide of the net.
